Zodiak Entertainment Distribution today announced the commission of its recently launched game show format, The Guillotine by leading Spanish broadcaster Telecinco. The 26 x 45’ series, which will be produced by Magnolia Spain, a Zodiak Entertainment company, will air from spring 2010 in access prime time.

The Spanish sale adds another key territory to the show’s portfolio and follows the recent license of 52 episodes by TVP2 in Poland, produced by Mastiff, also Zodiak Entertainment company. Ratings for The Guillotine on primary broadcaster Rai Uno have made it the highest rated game show in Italy for 5 consecutive years.

The Guillotine is a nail-biting game show that viewers can’t help but play at home. Contestants face a series of word connection challenges, they need to answer fast, or their money will face the chop.

Packed with twists in fortune, the contestant that keeps winning will make it to the iconic Guillotine end game, where simply guessing one word could win them a massive cash prize.
